Jess J - Therapy Assistant
Jess J - Lara, Geelong, Bellarine
What are your hobbies outside of working?
I have my own creative business- I run kids art classes, paint and sip parties, prop hire, balloons etc! This keeps me very busy, but I always have time for my pups, Oreo & Rain!
How do you connect with young people?
I am big on relationships & building trust! I have over 8 years of experience working in schools & have worked with students in Prep- Year 12. I take a strengths-based approach & use a trauma informed lens when working with young people. Using high interest topics, I love to empower students to reach their full potential and find their own voice in the world.
What were you like growing up?
My mum used to call me "blunt", but now she says that I'm honest! I was (and still am) passionate, & had an all-or-nothing, 'say it how it is' kind of approach. It wasn't until I was 25 & received an ADHD diagnosis that no one really saw coming, that my world started to make sense. Now I see so much of myself in many Neurodivergent children and want to do all that I can to help them thrive in a world that wasn't really made for them.
