Megan H - Disability Support Worker
Lara, Geelong, Bellarine
Megan has Neurodivergent siblings, and has a particularly unique talent of connecting with our young boys.
What are your hobbies outside of working?
Footy, taking my dog to the beach and watching live music.
How do you connect with young people?
I’m quite open-minded and patient with young people. I like to see what their interests are and get involved in what makes them happy whether it be games, art, sports etc. I like to learn new things from young people as well as be able to teach them new things as well. The pre-existing relationships with people who are neurodivergent in my family has motivated me to continue down this career path.
What were you like growing up?
Being one of the older siblings in my family with an age range between 12-34 I found I was good at finding common interests with them all which taught me a lot about their personalities. I did feel like I had more of a responsibility of looking after the younger ones. I was caring towards everyone, and I think all my siblings knew that they could rely on me if they needed help.
