Teah D - Virtual Support Worker

Teah comes to us with lived experience of Neurodivergence, and a background in research & data collection and other administrative duties.

What are your hobbies outside of working?

I like to spend time with my family and friends, otherwise I’m very much a homebody. I like to crochet, play video games, and watch movies to wind down after a long day.

How do you connect with young people?
I definitely rely on humour to relate to other people. I always find it easy to make others laugh and can shift my sense of humour depending on the situation. I’m also the ‘therapist’ of my friend groups and if anyone is experiencing difficulty, they’re always comfortable to come to me for advice. I like to think this helping nature extends to strangers too.

What were you like growing up?
I always had my head in a book. I would often retreat when my family had guests over and would entertain myself in my room or cling to my brother’s side (I still do both of those now). I learnt how to entertain myself from a young age as I didn’t have a lot of friends growing up, and thrived with parallel play.

What qualifications do you have?
